SIRENIA has always been one of the leading bands in the female fronted metal sector and "Arcane Astral Aeons" solidifies this status. We enjoy one hour of smooth gothic metal, mainly straight forward and catchy as pop music, but some well placed and balanced symphonic elements and vocal variations as male vocals, growling and female operatic vocals keep the songs more than interesting and heavy enough for repeated listening. For me, it is even the best album in SIRENIA's discography so far!
